Abubakar Siddique Muqaddas received his Bachelors Degree in Electrical (Telecommunications) Engineering from Military College of Signals, NUST, Rawalpindi Pakistan in 2011.
He worked as a Network Engineer IP Core Operations in Multinet Pakistan Pvt. Ltd. from November 2011 to September 2013.
He graduated from Politecnico di Torino with 110/110 summa cum laude in Masters in Telecommunications Engineering in October 2015. His MS thesis was on “Evaluation of Distributed ONOS Controllers in Software Defined Networks” supervised by Prof. Paolo Giaccone, Prof. Andrea Bianco (Politecnico di Torino) and Prof. Guido Maier (Politecnico di Milano). Along with the Masters, he participated in the Alta Scuola Politecnica (ASP) program jointly conducted by Politecnico di Torino and Politecnico di Milano to develop multidisciplinary skills. During the ASP program, he was part of the Big Diamond (Big Data for Internet Monitoring) project under the supervision of Prof. Marco Mellia (Politecnico di Torino).
Since November 2015, he is working as a Ph.D. student under the supervision of Prof. Paolo Giaccone.
From December 2017 to October 2018, he was a visiting Ph.D. student at the University of Bristol, UK in the High Performance Networks (HPN) Group under the supervision of Prof. Reza Nejabati where he worked on the 5G UK Exchange and Open Source MANO WAN Infrastructure Manager component.
