Alessandro Cornacchia was born in Castel San Pietro Terme (BO – Italy) on February 6th, 1995.

He got his Bachelor’s degree cum laude in Computer Engineering in October 2017 at Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna, carrying out a thesis about network monitoring, supervised by Prof. Franco Callegati jointly with Sacmi Group.

In July 2020 he graduated in Master Degree in Communication and Computer Networks Engineering from Politecnico di Torino, with thesis “Optimized Flow Scheduling for Low Latency Data Center Networks” supervised by prof. Paolo Giaccone and prof. Andrea Bianco.

He’s currently a Ph.D student in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering at the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications (DET) of Politecnico di Torino, under the supervision of Prof. Paolo Giaccone and Prof. Andrea Bianco. His research interests center around network programmability and sketch-based probabilistic algorithms for fast and efficient in-network traffic monitoring.
