Itamar Cohen received his B.Sc. in Computer Engineering (c.l., 2003) and M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (2008), from the Technion, Israel. He received his Ph.D. degree from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel, in 2020. His Ph.D. dissertation is titled Advanced Algorithms in Heterogeneous and Uncertain Networking Environments.

In 2003-2004 he worked as a test engineer in Marvell, focused on electrical characterization, test definition, and coverage. In 2005-2006 he worked as a research assistant in REMON, Israel 4G Mobile Consortium, where he developed Opnet simulations of handover mechanism at 802.16 (WiMax). In 2006-2007 he worked as a chip designer in Ezchip (later bought by Mellanox), focused on the design and test of network processor blocks. During 2003-2020 he worked also as a lecturer and a teaching assistant in various affiliations, including the Technion, Ben-Gurion University, and Bar-Ilan University, Israel.

He was the recipient of Cisco prize for excellent students in the areas of the Internet and networking (2006), Ben-Gurion University awards for distinguished teaching assistants (2019), and Kreitman scholarship for distinguished post-doc fellows (2020).
He is now a Post-Doc researcher in the Telecommunication Networks Group. His research interests include buffering and scheduling, decision making under uncertainty, and cooperative caching.
