Guido Albertengo was born in Turin, Italy, on September 9, 1956.

He received the Electronic Engineering Degree from Politecnico di Torino in December 1980, "summa cum laude", with a thesis on the implementation of a digital 9600 bps MODEM fully implemented in software on a 8 bit microprocessor.

From June 1981 until May 1983 he was with Tasco S.p.A., a small private company operating in the field of image processing for industrial applications.

In June 1983, he joined the staff of the Electronics Department of Politecnico di Torino as a researcher.

Current areas of interest:

He is currently working on energy-efficient protocols for WSN with real-time constraints, vehicular telematics and energy-efficient driving.
