Luca Vassio received the M.Sc. degree in mathematical modelling for engineering from the Politecnico di Torino, Torino, Italy, in 2012. During the studies, he was hosted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, USA, and the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Lausanne, Switzerland. In 2009 and 2010, he collaborated in the design and construction of a hydrogen fuel cell low-consumption vehicle (Team H2polito). In 2013 and 2014 he was employed by the Politecnico di Torino and by the company General Electric (GE) Avio for a research project focused on optimization of aeronautical low-pressure turbines.
His mainly research interests are related to:
- Traffic data analysis and data mining techiniques
- Network modeling
- Dynamics over networks and graph theory
- Optimization algorithms (metaheuristics, operations research, trust-region...)
- Applications to automotive and aeronautical engineering
